Fashion Monday 27.5. - Kevin

More than 18 months we are talking about spending some time shooting a couple of pictures with Kevin, a guy which I think is a good example of renaissance man living, working and creating in 21st century. One good example is his bicycle, the first one he build by himself after switching from motorcycles. We all think that this switch is only temporary :) We feature this Fashion Monday in two steps: "Man and his bicycle" and "The Worker". You can find some other amazing things he makes on his webpage. Fashion Monday 3.12.2012 - Long time no see, Martin

Martin is a friend with a good taste for almost everything. Well, we have to point out that we did not see each other for a long time. We did not drink beer together even longer. We all hope it's going to change.. Another hope for us is to keep trying to issue Fashion Mondays more frequently (a good excuse is that in November there is no good light outdoor..).

Amazing Indigofera Gotham Jacket, inspired by very british Donkey Jacket. Wool & soft leather.

Even Martin was more than surprised how comfortable the brand new Grenson Fred boots could be.

In 1929 the said in Oxford Dictionary about this type of jacket: one with leather shoulders and back. We like the collar too.

Over-sized brogue detailing is typical for Grenson. Mention also robust Commando sole. Goes well with slim fit Indigofera jeans.

Coated rivet belt will be not continued. Last pieces on stock.

Front part of this vest is made of japanese selvage flannel colored with indigo. It will fade like your jeans do. 

Martin did not stop by alone but with his Fanda. BTW: beer bottle was empty before we started to shoot.

It is a bit shame that human population almost forget to wear vests. With slim jeans it looks awesome.

Who would resist to try on this tee? Or is it just us, Czechs?

Fashion Monday 22.10.12. - The director

Today we had a very special guest. Not for the first time here in our store because Tomas Lunak is sophisticated customer for a couple of months. What is maybe a bit more interesting is the fact that he is a director of truly original Alois Nebel movie. It is definitely worth to be seen!

We are really happy that he wears the stuff from Denim Heads everywhere around the globe. And, obviously it makes us really proud that he came today on his bicycle for a today's shooting of (now bi-weekly) Fashion Monday. Thank you very much, Tomas!

Barbour Beacon Heritage Field jacket made from unique coated cotton distressed fabric is military inspired but we can call it elegant without any doubts.

Midori notebook in the back pocket as we like it! Quilted jackets are typical (like waxed cotton) for Barbour.

Big E Levi's 501 from 1954.

No selvage can be seen but it is there. Black Iron Range is one of the classic Red Wings.

Armor Lux wool striped sweater and this jacket is a nice solution for a bad weather not only in the city.

Tartan lining is so typical for Barbour jackets.

We think that this tee is the best from recent Levi's Vintage Clothing collection. Wondering why?

Levi's Vintage Clothing - trička a košile

Při prvním výročí otevření Concept Qubus x Denim Heads na Vás kromě výtečné kapely Reverend Elvis and The Undead Syncopators čekaly také džíny z kolekce Levi's Vintage Clothing. Jednalo se výhradně o "pětsetjedničky" v nesepraném stavu a zcela oprávněně o ně byl mezi Vámi zájem. Proto jsme se rozhodli obnovit skladové zásoby všech těchto džín a vybrali jsme také několik kousků z jinak velmi rozsáhlé kolekce LVC pro tuto sezónu.

Certifikát na zadní kapse pětsetjedniček z roku 1966.

Celá produkce Levi's Vintage Clothing je založena na faktu, že každý výrobek je přesnou kopií svého vzoru z minulosti. U Levi's Vintage Clothing mají obrovský archív, takže je z čeho čerpat. Pro tuto sezónu jsou jedním z témat motorkáři z období od konce 40.let do počátku let 60.tých. Nepopiratelným vzorem pro tisíce mladíku té doby byl Marlon Brando po svém hereckém výkonu ve filmu Wild One (psali jsme o něm např.zde). K ohrnutým džínám Levi's 501 patřila kromě kožených bund a vysokých bot i jednoduchá bavlněná trička, která v té době nebyla zdaleka tak běžná na každodenní nošení jak je tomu dnes. Trika se pak vylepšovaly různými tematickými vzory a par takto autentických triček máme nyní v nabídce i my. Jsou propracována do nejmenších detailů včetně cedulek, typu sešití a "nemoderních" barev použitých na design.

Nápis je odkazem na tradici 50.let, kdy dával kněz požehnání motorkářům před plánovanou dlouhou a téměř vždy strastiplnou cestu.

Bohužel se nám (zatím) nepodařilo zjistit, jaký borec jezdil s tímto číslem (pozn. jedná se o jiné tričko, než "požehnané" výše zmíněné.

Annual Gypsy Tour je amatérský závod motocyklů s tradicí od roku 1917. Název Gypsy je odkazem k nutnosti urazit velké vzdálenosti cestou na závod (sraz). Motorkáři spali cestou ve stanech okolo ohnišť, což v té době kromě Hollywoodu byla doména práve kočujících cikánů.

Have fun - see ya at finish, v roce 1954 byl závod na 100 mil jistě velkou švandou.

Materiál, design i přišití cedulky je poplatné době svého vzoru.

Pro změnu počátkem 70.let je inspirováno toto baseballové triko s polodlouhým rukávem (raglán),  ovšem trochu vylepšené je o vyšislý design na hrudi.

Počátkem 60.let vylepšili u Levi'su jednoduché bíle triko duhovým efektem. Barevné kombinace  se mění v každé LVC kolekci. Aktuální se nazývá (bůhvíproč) Pirate Black.

Kapsička na hrudi, dnes ne úplně obvyklá věc.

Všechna trička i džíny můžete vidět a vyzkoušet v našem obchodě Concept Qubus x Denim Heads v Rámové 3 nebo v e-shopu.

Jediným zástupcem košil v aktuální kolekci, kterého jsme zvolili je košile Shorthorn Shirt Blanket Stripe. Je zajímavá tím, že v padesátých letech byla většina flanelových košil kostkovaných a tato je pruhovaná. Důvodem bylo použití stejného designu (i materiálu), jaký se používal např. pro podšívky do džínových bund. V naší nabídce je např. parádní vestička Floyd Vest z nové kolekce švédských denimových bohů Indigofera Prima Jeans, která ma podšívku řešenou podobným materiálem (Indigofera používá nekompromisně jen nejlepší materiál z Japonska).

Považujeme to za velmi zdařilou barevnou kombinaci

Poctivě odvedená práce, to se v dnešní době začíná vyplácet.
